
Abdul Malik
Abdul Malik is a Chartered Accountant from a Big 4 accounting firm and member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales with more than 25 years of highly diversified experience in strategic C-Level positions.
He has been a successful CFO, Group CFO, Group General Manager, COO, acting CEO, Head of Internal Audit and Head of Corporate & Legal Affairs and also been the Head of Human Resources and Distribution functions at different times.
He started his career with a PwC firm in external audit and later moved into PwC management consulting practice. In 1990 Abdul Malik moved in to industry and for the first 15 years he was associated with global British & American multinational companies progressing into the role of CFO of an American company within just eight years and immensely contributed in that role for the next five years.
Abdul Malik moved to the UAE in 2006 taking up the challenging role of Group General Manager of a leading automotive company. Within just two years the company’s revenue doubled crossing AED 1 billion mark and the profit increased seven folds in the same period. He took several initiatives in the organization’s transformation and turnaround across all areas and managed the necessary change.
As CFO of a subsidiary of a large American manufacturing company, he directly contributed to the company exceeding the top line and bottom budgets year after year. This was achieved by his direct contribution in setting up strategies and ensuring its dissemination and implementation across the organization as also a very efficient monitoring of the actual monthly performance.
Abdul Malik’s other achievement as CFO of a public sector USD 1.5 billion gas utility company was his remarkable success in helping the company control its operating and capital costs by avoiding wastages so common in a public sector organization and thus ensuring availability of resources for all its major capital expenditure for growth.
Besides, Abdul Malik has directly supervised HR and Distribution functions of an American company and took key initiatives which involved the hiring, training & retention policies and appointing new distributors in all key territories with outstanding results on revenue growth.
